In 2011 MJD Interactive Agency was selected as Digital Agency of Record for DJO Global. DJO is the largest private company in San Diego, with $1 billion in sales last year, over 4,000 products and 5,000 employees. Fourteen brands live under the DJO umbrella, including DonJoy, Aircast, Dr. Comfort and Compex. We were tasked initially to bring 13 separate branded microsites into one site - djoglobal.com. The reasons for doing this were many, but our main strategy was to increase brand recognition for DJO Global, and to show medical professionals, for the first time, the entire breadth of DJO’s product line in one place.
We oversaw over 250 stakeholder interviews, gathering information on what internal staff needed from the site, and most importantly, what the users wanted. With this and additional intense research on the company in hand, we set out to create in-depth Persona, Sitemap, and Wireframe UX documentation. Approval in hand, we set out to design the site concepts. Over a dozen people needed to be consulted for design approval, and the research paid off - we had zero concept design revisions. The site is built in Drupal and includes advanced product filtering, and an incredibly easy to edit Content Management System.
Since launch, MJD has been tasked with three mobile apps, content strategy and expansion, a video library, four Oracle based customer service applications, SEO, and two product focused social campaigns. Results have been phenomenal.
