Lower Back Pain Relief
This might seem like a strange post on the MJD Interactive Agency blog, but for those of us strapped to a desk all week scrunched over a computer screen with a lower back that is screaming for relief, it could be very beneficial.
I've thrown out my back three times in the last three years, each time getting progressively worse. The last bout lasted a month and a half, and thankfully ended this morning!
First what didn't work: Pain meds, muscle relaxers, or acupuncture. Meds just covered up the pain and made nothing better, and I just didn't notice anything from the acupuncture (but it was pretty neat anyway).
What did work: The book, Foundation: Redefine Your Core, Conquer Back Pain, and Move with Confidence, is amazing. It strengthens your core and specifically your lower back. Those exercises got me through the knife stabbing, can't move, boy is this making me an ornery person pain in the beginning, but the dull "it could come back any moment" pain remained. Then last night I took some doctor's advice and slept with a pillow between my legs. I was shocked this morning when I woke up pain free. It really was that simple.
